Thank you for your interest in Scholars however, due to the current situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and taking into consideration the Government’s advice, Scholars Restaurant will not be open as usual.

Therefore, we will not be accepting online bookings, telephone reservations or walk-ins until further notice.

Head down to Scholars Restaurant and enjoy a three course meal prepared and served by our fantastic Hospitality students.

Each dish has been carefully produced using only seasonal, regional and fresh ingredients, all offered at a mouth-watering price.

Our passionate students want to make your lunch a memorable one, dishes are carefully created and cooked to order to give our students the best experience possible.

To Begin

Ginger infused Scottish salmon, served with dill, apple and cucumber (GF)

Suckling Pig
Cured, roasted and pressed over 4 days, served with pearl barley, sweetcorn puree and wild garlic

Scholars soup of the day, served with a crusty bread roll and parsley butter (V)

Main Course

Winter vegetable risotto, served with sautéed wild mushrooms, poached English peas, roasted garlic, garden herbs and Lancashire cheese beignet (V)

Pan fried seabass, served with watercress, curried veloute and roasted hassle backs

Supreme of Chicken
Sautéed supreme of chicken served with confit legs, potato terrine, carrot puree, roasted heritage carrots, Jus (GF)


Rhubarb Trifle
Poached English rhubarb, server with vanilla bean custard, Syllabub cream, almonds and rolled oats (Hala, V)

Sticky Toffee Pud
Sticky toffee pudding with a hint of ginger, served with brown butter ice-cream, honeycomb and toasted oats (Halal, V)

Vegan Menu

If ordering from the vegan menu, all food must be pre-ordered in advance, please do so by emailing or replying to your confirmation email after completing the form at the bottom of this page.

To Begin (V)

Oriental vegetable parcels
Carrots, beansprouts, courgette and peas wrapped in a light crispy parcel served with a sweet chilli sauce.

Scholars Soup of the day, served with a crusty bread roll and vegan spread.

Main Course (V)

Wild mushroom and English pea risotto, served with vegan parmesan cheese.

Spaghetti served with rich tomato sauce, garnished with roasted sweet potato and chick peas.

Dessert (V)

Assorted Sorbets
Scholars homemade sorbet served on a vegan meringue nest.

Chocolate Mousse
Chocolate mousse served with chocolate soil and vegan whipped cream.

Relax and enjoy this three course set menu for only £8.50 per person.

Please be mindful that our students are being assessed during each lunch service and will sometimes be under pressure to ensure that you have a fantastic experience at Scholars Restaurant.

Make a reservation request

To make a reservation and secure a table, complete the reservation request form below or call us on 01254 292155.

We kindly ask that your reservation is completed at least 24 hours prior to the date you wish to dine at Scholars, and that you arrive ten minutes prior to the reservation to help ensure the best possible service is provided during your visit.

Parties of six or more must pre-order to secure a booking.

A non-refundable deposit of £5 per person is required to secure a reservation for parties of six or more. This deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your meal on the day.

How to pay your deposit
We can take payment over the phone so it’s as simple as giving us a call on 01254 292155. Alternatively, you can stop by Scholars Restaurant and pay in person.

When making a reservation or pre-order, please inform us if any members of your party has a food allergy. Food prepared may contain or have come into contact with the following products:
